Gentle, compassionate grief counselling in Victoria BC and online

Grief across the continuum of loss, dying, and bereavement

Grief can take many forms, and each experience is unique.

At Kintsugi Grief Counselling, I offer grief counselling for adults (19+) in Victoria, BC and online across British Columbia, supporting bereavement, pet loss, anticipatory grief, and grief related to MAiD and end-of-life experiences.

There is no right way to grieve, and no expectation to move through loss in a particular way.

Whether your grief is recent or long-held, I offer a compassionate space where your experiences can be explored with care and steadiness.

Hi, I'm
Yoshiko Nonaka
(MC, RCC-ACS)

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Victoria, supporting individuals navigating grief, loss, and life transitions.

My work integrates talk therapy, art therapy, and collaborative guidance, creating a safe space where you can explore your emotions with care, respect, and at your own pace.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, I believe your story holds strength and meaning, even the painful ones.

Healing is not about erasing the cracks, but about honouring them as part of a renewed sense of purpose and meaning.

Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest steps, especially during periods of deep sorrow.

My role is to create a grounding presence where you can reconnect with resilience, self-compassion, and the parts of yourself that grief may have quieted.

About Kintsugi Grief Counselling

At Kintsugi Grief Counselling, I specialize in individual grief counselling for adults (19+), including grief counselling, pet loss counselling, support through terminal illness, and support related to Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD).

My work focuses on grief across the continuum of loss, dying, and bereavement.

Grief is a human experience to be witnessed, supported, and gently explored.

Together, we can navigate your grief with compassion, respect, and an approach that honours your unique grief and pace.

In addition to grief-specific work, I welcome clients seeking support for personal growth and identity exploration, including life transitions and relationship counselling

Even when you may not associate your experience with grief, many major moments in life carry themes of change and loss.

Whether you are coping with a significant loss or simply seeking a space for reflection and grounding, I am here to support your process.

I offer grief counselling in Victoria BC, the surrounding areas, and online throughout BC.

How I Can Support You

Grief can take many forms, and at times feel disorienting or isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as you uncover resilience, meaning, and growth in the midst of change.

Whether you are experiencing recent loss, anticipatory grief, or unresolved grief that continues to echo through your life, support is available.

While much of my work centres on grief and loss, I also offer support for life transitions and relational changes that are not necessarily rooted in loss.

This may include periods of uncertainty, shifts in identity or roles, or changes within important relationships.

To make the beginning easier, I offer an introductory session at 50% off.

This gives you a gentle starting point to see whether working together feels supportive and aligned with your needs.

If you are seeking grief counselling in Victoria BC or online support from anywhere in the province, I invite you to connect.
