Grief Counselling Services in Victoria, BC
At Kintsugi Grief Counselling, I believe that healing happens in a space of trust, collaboration, and compassion. Grief is not something to be rushed or “fixed,” and each person’s experience of loss is unique. My approach honours your individual story and creates space for your emotions to be expressed safely and without judgment.
While I specialize in grief counselling, I also support clients navigating personal growth, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-exploration. Grief often intersects with many areas of life, and our work together can adapt to what feels most present and meaningful for you.
Each session is tailored to meet your unique needs, ensuring that you feel supported while exploring your thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences. Whether through talk therapy, art therapy, or a combination of both, we work collaboratively to find an approach that feels grounding and supportive.
I work with individuals aged 19 and older and also provide clinical supervision and consultation for fellow counsellors, fostering a supportive and reflective environment for professional growth.
I specialize in:
- Grief counselling/therapy
- Pet loss counselling
- Loss from MAiD
- Pregnancy loss (miscarriages, terminations, stillbirth)
- Traumatic loss (accidents, homicide, suicide, drug poisoning/overdose)
- Sudden or unexpected loss
- Anticipatory and complicated grief
Additional Support & Approach
Grief can take many forms, and there is no single way it should look or feel. Some losses are sudden and overwhelming, while others unfold slowly over time. I offer support across a range of grief experiences, recognizing that each type of loss carries its own complexities, challenges, and emotional responses.
Grief can affect many areas of daily life, including sleep, concentration, relationships, and your sense of meaning or identity. Counselling offers a space to slow down, notice what you’re carrying, and gently explore how loss is showing up for you. Sessions are guided by your comfort and readiness, and there is no expectation to share more than feels safe in the moment. Over time, this supportive process can help you build understanding, resilience, and self-compassion as you move forward.
Pet Loss Support
Losing a beloved pet can be just as devastating as losing a human loved one. Pets are family, companions, and sources of unconditional love, and their absence can leave a profound sense of emptiness. Yet, pet loss grief is often misunderstood, minimized, or dismissed by others, which can make the grieving process feel especially isolating.
At Kintsugi Grief Counselling, I offer a compassionate and validating space where your grief is taken seriously and honoured. Whether you are mourning an elderly pet, coping with a sudden or traumatic loss, or struggling with feelings of guilt or uncertainty around euthanasia, you are not alone in this experience.
Together, we create space to acknowledge the depth of your bond, process complex emotions, and gently support your healing journey at a pace that feels right for you. Your grief is valid, and it deserves care, attention, and understanding.
